Project Overview

The Koropi–Paiania Wastewater Treatment Plant serves more than 100,000 residents and is a critical infrastructure facility for Eastern Attica. Designed with future expansion in mind, the plant has the capacity to serve an even larger population in the years ahead.

The Challenge

  • A 2.5 km underground pipeline running through a service tunnel required reliable fire protection in a challenging, remote, and demanding environment.

  • At the same time, the plant's electromechanical substations required reliable fire detection and fire suppression systems to ensure safe and uninterrupted operation.

Our Approach

  • Installed a fire detection system throughout the entire 2.5 km tunnel, providing rapid fire detection and early warning.

  • Installed automatic fire suppression systems in the substations, providing fast and effective protection in the event of a fire.

The Result

The Koropi–Paiania Wastewater Treatment Plant is now protected by a comprehensive fire detection and fire suppression solution, enhancing operational safety and ensuring the reliable protection of this critical infrastructure facility.
